My wife and I just stood, mouths wide, when we saw this one.  ”Tell you what, honey, let’s see how many famous SCOTUS cases we can name that aren’t Roe v. Wade.  You start:”

“That Board of Education one?”

“Yeah, Brown vs. Board.  Plessy v. Ferguson.  Your turn.”

“Uh,… oh! Bush v. Gore!”

“Good one.  Marbury v. Madison.  Next?”

“Um.  Oh, you know I don’t follow that as much as you do!”

“C’mon, one more.  Give you a hint - she’s a skinny woman from California… feds have the right to bust medical marijuana in the states… you met her in San Francisco at the 2006 NORML conference…”

“Oh, yeah, that Angel lady!”

“Raich v. Gonzales.  How bout Conant v. Walters?  Dred Scott?  Loving v. Virginia?  Lawrence v. Texas?  Hamdan v. Bush?”

“Well, you know all those from your blogging.”

“Yeah, but do you realize that you, a woman full-time in nursing school with an average citizen’s interest in politics, were pretty much able to come up with three SCOTUS decisions that weren’t Roe v. Wade.  And me, a college dropout self-educated blogging nerd, I knew your three and came up with seven more.  But the goddamned potential president of the United States who would nominate possibly three more Supreme Court justices for life only knows Roe v. Wade.  Does that not freak you fuck out?”

“It’s unbelievable!”

“No, this is unbelievable.”  I motioned her in closer to the YouTube…

“What newspapers do you read?” I repeated.  ”I can possibly see flubbing a SCOTUS question, if you’re the hockey mom baking cookies before the big party.  But what newspapers do you read?  You either read newspapers or you don’t!  If you do, you say its name!  How about the Anchorage Daily News, your state’s largest paper?  Even if you don’t read newspapers, you’ve heard of them, right?  You can’t just say Washington Post?  Do you think it’s a trick question?  ’Ooh, if I say New York Times they’ll call me a liberal!  Is the Washington Post liberal?  Those Anchorage bastards said mean things about me, so I won’t say them…’”

C’mon, Joe, let your inner Biden out, the guy who’ll say “bullshit” and tell it like it is.  When that lipsticked maw of hers spews forth more talking point vocabulary confetti cannon, I want to see you in the split screen reacting to her like the rest of us are, with complete disbelief and utter contempt.  If you give her anything other than cursory respect and politeness, you lose.  If she’s perceived to be playing on the same field with you, you lose.  It needs to be crystal clear that she is an aberration, a mistake, and an insult to the office of the presidency and the citizenry.  You need to show you’re a tough man for tough times who’ll fight for America, political correctness or hurt feelings be damned!
