The owners and operators of a chain of medical marijuana dispensaries in the LA area were arrested yesterday on federal drug trafficking charges. The early morning raid included the seizure of the company’s bank accounts. 41 year old Aaron Sandusky of Rancho Cucamonga who owns the G3 Holistic Healing Centers, 44 year old Keith Alan Sandusky and 31 year old John Nuckolls were all arrested, along with three others who ran a grow operation in connection with the stores. An indictment issued last week by a federal grand jury charged all six people with conspiracy to manufacture and possess marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
Each count carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison and a maximum penalty of life in prison. All of the defendants are all facing at least one count of maintaining a drug-involved premises, a charge that carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Federal prosecutors said the arrests come after the owners of the stores received written warnings about eight months ago that G3’s marijuana business was operating in violation of federal law, and those warnings were ignored. While G3’s owners and operators shuttered the stores in Colton and Moreno Valley, the Upland store remained open yesterday, but they were not taking calls today. All six defendants made an initial appearance on Thursday in federal court. None of them were asked to enter a plea.
They will be in court this afternoon for a bond hearing. We will keep you posted.
