The millionaire who self-funded a medical marijuana initiative in Missouri has filed lawsuits to remove the two competing medical marijuana initiatives from the November ballot. Springfield doctor and attorney Brad Bradshaw spent $1.5 million on his Find the Cures Initiative, which bans home cultivation of cannabis and features the highest taxes of the three measures. Proceeds from those taxes solely benefit an institute that critics contend could be headed by Bradshaw himself. Bradshaw claims that the competing constitutional amendment from New Approach Missouri, an activist-led group that narrowly failed to make the 2016 ballot, improperly gathered signatures without having a circulator present. Bradshaw alleges that the competing statutory initiative from attorney Lowell Pearson contains enough invalid signatures to disqualify it from the ballot.
