Before you take a moment to tell me once again how there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats, so you might as well vote third party, read this and tell me what Democrats would be doing on this issue:

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration announced on Thursday that it was expanding religious freedom protections for doctors, nurses and other health care workers who object to performing procedures like abortion and gender reassignment surgery, satisfying religious conservatives who have pushed for legal sanctuary from the federal government.

The new steps, which include the creation of an oversight entity within the Department of Health and Human Services called the Conscience and Religious Freedom Division, are the latest efforts by President Trump to meet the demands of one of his most loyal constituencies. They coincide with Mr. Trump’s planned address on Friday to abortion opponents at the annual March for Life in Washington.

For religious conservatives, the new protections address long-held concerns that religious people could be forced to comply with laws and regulations that violate their religious beliefs.

Who’s the snowflakes now?

I fully support your right to believe any silly ancient fairy tales you prefer. However, you don’t get to remake the world to coddle your superstitions. If your religion prevents you from doing your job, find a new fucking job!

Following your religion means making compromises or refusing them on your part, not ours. Your decision to become an Evangelical Christian who believes pregnant women are broodmares of the state and transgender people are abominations means that you either make the compromise that your beliefs are your own and your work is your work, or you refuse to compromise and find a new fucking job.

The Constitution’s First Amendment says that government “shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”

Nothing in the Constitution says that government shall make laws respecting your religion in the workplace.

Nobody is forcing religious people to comply with laws and regulations that violate their religious beliefs. Being a doctor, a nurse, or a pharmacist is a choice you make. You are not compelled by force of law to be a doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.

If a Muslim man decides to become a bartender, we don’t make laws saying that he’s free to refuse to serve alcohol to someone because it violates the tenets of his faith. You can be a Muslim, or you can be a bartender, nobody is forcing you to be either. The same goes for Mormon baristas, Amish electricians, Jewish tattoo artists, and vegan Hooters waitresses.

If anything, your begging the nanny state to be free to discriminate against women and LGBT people shows just how little faith you actually have in your God. A true believer who was a doctor being required to perform an abortion or gender-reassignment would refuse to do the procedures and accept being fired, knowing that it’s all a part of God’s plan and He will provide some other, holier way for you to make a living.

Supporting this latest Trumpster fire shows you’re not true believer, you’re just a common theocrat.
