It is so unfair to criticize Boise’s City Council candidate, Brandi Swindell, for her model-hot looks, fake tan, tight jeans, and Tammy-Faye makeup. Just because a woman is attractive, that does not mean she is dumb.
J.P. Espil was quick to attack Idaho Statesman columnist Dan Popkey for asserting such a thing:
(BrandiSwindell.org) Dan Popkey,
Your comments in regards to Brandi Swindell’s appearance were sexist and completely uncalled for. Many people will probably respond to your comments with tactful requests that you apologize. They will be polite so as to not tarnish their own credibility.
That is not the way I operate. Your sexist comments do nothing more than expose you as the bigot that you are.
Are you jealous that Brandi is attractive? Do intelligent women who are attractive and talented intimidate you? They must? Why else would you resort to comments about someones appearance? How awful it must be to live in fear of people who posses qualities that you do not.

Mr. Espil isn’t shy with his opinions on attractive political females. Last February, feminist icon Gloria Steinem spoke at Boise State University. According to a review in the Boise State student newspaper…
(BSU Arbiter) Another problem society faces, Steinem said, is the stigma that a single parent family is a broken home.
According to her, the only two clear statistics regarding a traditional family household are: a man in the house will most likely increase income, and a man in the house increases violence.
Nested in the comments about the article, we find a question from a woman in Louisiana:
I wonder why she thinks a man in the home will increase violence. That to me seems unfair.

Why would Gloria Steinem, feminist icon (and quite a looker in her day, too) say such a thing (besides the fact that, statistically speaking, it is true)? What say you, J.P.? It must be because she has incorrect data. Or maybe you disagree with her politically. But certainly, just because Steinem is an attractive woman doesn’t mean she’s dumb, right?
Bambi,
Because she is dumb.

Ah. Got it. Attractive conservative women with no college degree, no work experience, and a thin activist resumé are smart. Attractive liberal women with Phi Beta Kappa honors and scholarships that graduate with a degree in government studies, have experience with working in two national presidential campaigns, and have over three decades of activism under their belt are dumb.
