
[Continued from 2025: Diving Back into Politics With a Toke and a Smile]
Beginning in 2006, a radio professional from Philadelphia named Chris Goldstein was debuting what was then a brand new form of audio content — the podcast. Chris produced the NORML Daily Audio Stash, a daily marijuana news and affairs podcast for the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) in Washington, D.C..
Chris was a veteran of public affairs broadcasting and journalism in Philadelphia and went on to become an integral part of both Philly NORML and NJ NORML.
The NORML Daily Audio Stash was truly the pioneer in marijuana podcasting. While there have been a few local and syndicated radio shows to tackle the subject of marijuana in a thoughtful and professional manner, Chris’s show was the first to bridge the chasm between terrestrial radio and internet podcasting.
