The following is a poem written by “Radical” Russ Belville from Oregon.
“Radical” Russ recently received some offensive spam [seen in its entirety by clicking here] in the form of a poem written by theocrat Judge Roy “Graven Image” Moore from Alabama. Russ has been appalled by the hypocritical, unconstitutional, anti-American sentiments expressed by Moore and his American Taliban followers, and now they are trying to destroy the separation of church and state that makes America free and great.
America the Beautiful
A land of liberty
Disappointment to our Founders
If they could only see
Ideals of checks and balances
Crumbling beneath the weight
Of Christian Fundamentalists
Combining church and state
Our Congressmen threaten judges
Who aren’t in agreement
With personal morality
Instead of precedent
From Florida to Oregon
Lawmakers turn away
From principles of privacy
That make our nation great
Jefferson was not a Christian
And Franklin wasn’t, too
Most of our Founders were Deists
But still they surely knew
That government is best when free
From theocratic rule
They kept the state out of the church
And religion out of school
Freedom of religion is our
Constitutional right
Also freedom from religion
Madison did write
Moral issues confront us all
From cradle to the grave
But your God’s not the God of all
And souls aren’t yours to save
You think abortion is a sin
You’re free not to have one
Who are you to want the state to
Enforce procreation
You’re free to pray in school all day
No one can stop you there
But do not force my child to join
Your sacred rite of prayer
We see a world of drugs and crime
Poverty and disease
There’s better ways to solve these things
Than mumbling on your knees
And when you start scapegoating gays
For sins only you see
You bring to mind the Christians of
Mid-40’s Germany
You may display Commandments at
Your businesses or homes
But Scriptures, they do not belong
In courts or statehouse domes
How strange, those tablets, don’t they say
Love no graven idol
What do you call a two-ton rock
Displayed at recitals
The tablets say “thou shalt not kill”
I looked for the new ones
Exempting criminals and those
Iraqi civilians
The reason that we have this wall
Between the church and state
Is to protect all citizens
From bigotry and hate
So pray to God to save your soul
And let me tend my own
If you tear down the wall we’ve built
You’ll reap the seeds you’ve sewn
For throughout all world history
The facts are plain to see
Countries ruled by theocrats
Are never truly free

Pass this on and let’s hold our Constitution in the highest regard. It has stood the test of time and needs our support.
CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION!
>Subject: AWESOME POEM BY JUDGE ROY MOORE OF ALABAMA
The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama.
Judge Moore was recently sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice law in Alabama.
America the Beautiful,
or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims’ pride;
I’m glad they’ll never see.
Babies piled in dumpster’s,
Abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty;
your house is on the sand.
Our children wander aimlessly
poisoned by cocaine,
Choosing to indulge their lusts,
when God has said abstain.
From sea to shining sea,
our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God’s love
and a need to always pray.
We’ve kept God in our temples,
how callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool,
and Heaven is His throne.
We’ve voted in a government
that’s rotting at the core,
Appointing Godless Judges
who throw reason out the door,
Too soft to place a killer
in a well deserved tomb,
But brave enough to kill a baby
before he leaves the womb.
You think that God’s not angry,
that our land’s a moral slum?
How much longer will He wait
before His judgment comes?
How are we to face our God,
from Whom we cannot hide?
What then is left for us to do,
but stem this evil tide?
If we who are His children,
will humbly turn and pray;
Seek His holy face
and mend our evil way:
Then God will hear from Heaven
and forgive us of our sins,
He’ll heal our sickly land
and those who live within.
But, America the Beautiful,
if you don’t – then you will see,
A sad but Holy God
withdraw His hand from Thee.~Judge Roy Moore
Pass this on and let’s lift Judge Moore up in prayer. He has stood firm and needs our support.
IN GOD WE TRUST !
