I’m watching this “Dancing With the Stars” finalé on ABC. (Because Kelly Monaco is spinning around in tissue paper, that’s why.) Anyway, they are dancing for charity. Kelly is dancing for the Bush/Clinton Katrina Fund. And John O’Hurley? He’s dancing to benefit Golfers For Cancer.
Did he say “Golfers For Cancer”? Wait, they’re about to talk about it again. Yup, that’s what he said, he just said it again.
Well, I’m glad to see that someone isn’t afraid to take an unpopular yet principled stand.
Of course, he meant “Golfers Against Cancer”, and it’s a wonderful group. It’s my favorite golf-related charitable organization.
As I browse their website, I see they have a banner for the show, imploring us to vote for John. And America did, as John won $126,000 for Golfers Against Cancer (Tom Bergeron said it correctly.)
The other thing I see on the website is a graph showing how much money they have raised since 1997. But they’ve got the years backwards — 2004 on the left decreasing to 1997 on the right — so it looks at first glance as if they’ve raised less and less money over the years.
I don’t think I can go browse their unfortunately-acronymed link called “GAC on video.” I’ve actually gacked on video, and it’s not pretty.
