Rare Set of Identical Quadruplets Born – Houston Woman Gives Birth Naturally to a Set of Rare Identical Quadruplets

“I look at all four of them and I love them so much,” said mother Shelley Breedlove, herself an identical twin. “I can’t imagine not having them at this point.”

Breedlove? Like the fantastic Oregon guitar makers? Oh, come on now, that’s like having an amateur winning the World Series of Poker named Moneymaker. Wait, nevermind. Just whatever you do, don’t give them some cutesy, alliterative names like Tami, Tonya, Tiffany, and Traci. Or rhyming names like Tara, Sara, Lara, and Cara.

Daphne, Chloe, Bonnie and Adele Breedlove are the first set of identical quadruplets born at Woman’s Hospital of Texas, according to Houston television station KHOU.

A, B, C, D… OK, it’s cutesy, but at least it has a purpose. And they all end with an ‘e’. But they don’t rhyme. I’ll let this one slide.

Two of the four babies born two months ago three months prematurely may get to go home this week, where their 15-month-old brother awaits them.

UPDATE: OK, now I see how I messed it up. The four babies were born two months ago. All at the same time, which was three months premature. Of those four, two of them may get to go home. Got it.

Now that I read the rest of the post, it all seems so obvious and I look like an idiot. What, she was to go to the hospital, give birth to two kids, go home, a couple of months later say, “oh, geez, I sure feel all pregnant for some reason”, and then go to the hospital again to deliver two more kids? That’s what I get for trying to write while sitting in a tech class.

So, let me follow the timeline:

• Shelley has sex in May 2003
• Boy is born Feb 2004
• Shelley has sex in Sep 2004
• Adele & Bonnie delivered 3 months premature in Mar 2005
• Chloe & Daphne delivered 1 month premature in May 2005

How weird is that? Daphne has three identical sisters, two of whom are two months older than her. The Breedlove family has five kids in two years and three birthday parties between them.

But at least no stem cells were wasted.
