Well, everybody, my operation is over and seems to be a rousing success. I’m laying up on my couch with both feet packed up in Ace Bandages and protective boots. I have just a little bit of pain – it kinda feels like I’ve stubbed my big toes really hard. Of course, this may be the Percocet talking. They say I may have more pain tomorrow.
The strangest thing – my toes are straight! That was the goal, but after so many years of these crooked toes, it’s weird to look down and see them pointing straight forward.
My dad is here helping me out. He brought my grandpa’s wheelchair, so I’m wheeling around the house OK. I think the hardest thing to deal with for the next few weeks is going to be boredom.
So to all who are concerned, thanks for all your emails and calls of support. I’m fine, and I’ll be up and about within the next six weeks. See ya later!
