Some Yellow Elephants from Gonzaga University at a blog called The Four Horsemen note:
The Drudge Report says,
Osama bin Laden tried to buy a massive amount of cocaine, spike it with poison and sell it in the United States, hoping to kill thousands of Americans one year after the 9/11 attacks, the NEW YORK POST reported on Tuesday.
The evil plot failed when the Colombian drug lords bin Laden approached decided it would be bad for their business – and, possibly, for their own health, according to law-enforcement sources familiar with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s probe of the aborted transaction.
The feds were told of the scheme earlier this year, but its existence had never been made public.
The Post has reviewed a document detailing the DEA’s findings in the matter, in addition to interviewing sources familiar with the case.
So, don’t do coke.
At least it wasn’t poisoned pot…otherwise, there would be a significant decline in our hippie population.
(So, of course, I can’t let that bigoted prohibitionist shit lie undisturbed…)
Even better that the plan wasn’t for poisoning cigars… otherwise there would be a significant decline in our College Republican Chickenhawk Yellow Elephant population, just when we need them most on the frontlines in Iraq.
Or worse, imagine if Osama bin Laden* poisoned our beer supply. The resulting decline in redneck population would deal a crippling blow to both NASCAR and Wal-Mart.
And horror of horrors, what if al-Qaeda got into the OxyContin supply? What will we do without the sage wisdom and guidance of hillbilly heroin addict and doctor shopper Rush Limbaugh?
*Hey, why is it that he’s still running around on the loose coming up with new plans to kill Americans? Oh, yeah, because “I don’t know where he is, I ah, [chuckle] ah, I’ll repeat what I said, I truly am not that concerned about him.”
I’ve called out these Yellow Elephants on the OYE blog:
One of our patriotic commenters, sue, pointed out four able-bodied young men from Gonzaga University calling themselves “The Four Horsemen“. These four fine activist America-lovin’ young men, Jason Hagglund, Paul Schafer (when he’s not backing up Letterman, I suppose), Josh Skipper, and Nick Dahlvang have proclaimed themselves “the men who revolutionized the Gonzaga campus conservative movement.”
Judging from their picture, they all appear to be healthy and able to fight in the Glorious Leader’s Divine Plan to Democratize the Middle East by Blowing the Hell Out Of It. OK, maybe a little chubby, but with the military relaxing their weight standards, it’s nothing a little P.T. (Army lingo for physical training) won’t solve.
I know they are eager to sign up for the military, judging by these recent posts on their group blog:
(Regarding the USA unPATRIOTic Act) Our lawmakers have recognized just how important these provisions are in dealing with terrorists and ensuring the security of our nation. That is why yesterday they overwhelming approved the renewal of the act.
(On anti-war protestors being monitored by the FBI) I believe that a simple definition here for a terrorist is one who wishes to disrupt the lives (cause terror) on the people around him or her. This same classification of behavior can be applied to some of the radical liberal protesters who wish nothing more than ill-will on society around them.
(On the “war on nouns”) Since well before the 2003 coalition invasion of Iraq, opponents have kept declaring that “Saddam didn’t plan 9-11” – as if anyone in authority ever made such a claim. But Al Qaeda wasn’t the only problem. Terrorism, particularly Islamist terrorism (closely associated with Islamofascism), was plaguing the world and with little effective response. It was decided that stopping one enemy wasn’t enough – there was a bigger picture and a bigger cause.
(Debating an anti-war commenter) There is no hard evidence that Saddam had links to 9/11, but he did have links to terrorists. That is a fact.
You are so quick to call everything a “lie”… sometimes I wish I could be a teacher for a day and when I ask questions to the class and they answer wrong, I will call them LIARS!!!! Because being wrong about something is the same thing as lying, of course. I’m not a cynical, angry individual like yourself, but even for someone who hates Bush so much I can’t understand why you think you know more about our troop needs in Iraq.
My conclusion is that Bush has been wrong, he has made mistakes, but I do believe he feels he is doing the right thing in Iraq. I do believe he has good intentions in Iraq from the beginning. Let go of your hate… or you will be consumed by the Dark Side.
And of course, the cherry on top of the sundae:
(Answering “why don’t you enlist?”) [W]e’ve answered this question over and over… we don’t enlist because A) There is not the desperate need for recruits as the leftist bloggers and trolls contend, and B) given A, I personally have a career and have not chosen a military one. End of story.
Anyone care to fill them in on the latest military recruiting numbers?
