> Straight toes? I’m curious, missed this one.
Yeah, I had bunions on both feet causing severe foot pain. I had to stop my martial arts training (a shame, as my kicks were getting quite powerful) and my workouts (couldn’t run, or properly perform squats, calf presses, or lunges). I had a 25-degree crook from foot to toe; doc said anything over 15 is pretty bad.
Luckily, my wife works for Blue Cross, and this whole operation has just cost me $100. Gee, it’s almost like living in Canada! I’m laid up for six weeks, and I’ve got plenty to keep me busy. I’m looking for another job (I’m getting tired of talking about computers; I’d like to work on them.), studying for my MCSE & MCDBA tests, redesigning my RadicalRuss.net site, and doing some consulting work on another website.
Iva’s going to rent “Two Towers” on DVD, and we already have “Fellowship” (extended version), so we’re going to have a 6 & 1/2-hour viewing party tonight. I also bought that “Animal House” DVD. I’ve got three 600-page Microsoft tech manuals to read (exciting.) and a few new books (Eric Schlosser’s “Fast-Food Nation”, Jim Hightower’s “Thieves in High Places”, and Al Franken’s “Lies…”). I’m ready to go!

It seems to go real well with my other medicines, too. My toes just feel a little sore. My ankles are tired from the weight of the bandages and boots. My throat hurts worse than my toes – from that tube they stick down your throat during anesthesia.
In fact, I feel so good, I may go to that Animal House 25th Reunion down in Cottage Grove tomorrow. There’s a look-alike contest, and I found a character in a wheelchair from the movie! “Clayton”, the blind one of the four losers first introduced to Pinto and Flounder when they visited the Omega house. (“Lonny, Kent, I’d like you to meet Ahmet, Jugdish, Sydney, and Clayton…”)
“Radical” Russ — my wife is begging me not to, but I can’t resist the urge… It’ll make good content for my website…
