The Mighty Twelve-Time World Champion Green Bay Packers prevailed against Iva’s San Diego Super Chokers in a steady drizzling rain at Lambeau field.
The good? Brett Favre went 9-10, 91 yards, 1 touchdown pass on an 80-yard drive. Ryan Longwell kicked a game-winning 53 yard field goal in the swirling wind and driving rain with 33 seconds remaining. The refs correctly reversed a San Diego TD after review, noticing that the receiver didn’t get both feet in bounds.
The bad? The Packers fumbled the ball 6 times, losing three. The refs blew a San Diego fumble that we recovered for a touchdown. Green Bay couldn’t run the ball worth a damn. Our secondary still sucks, they totally blew coverage that led to San Diego’s only touchdown and were saved by receiver drops on at least three other long passes they blew.
The ugly? San Diego’s kicker, Nick Kaeding, who missed three field goal attempts from 40+ yards that would have put the Chargers ahead 10-7 (we really, really tried to let them win, what with all the fumbles and boneheaded miscues.)
