[Continued from 2020: Just When I Thought I Was Out, Idaho Pulls Me Back In…]
With the shocking coronation of the adjudicated rapist / convicted felon / indicted traitor / twice-impeached insurrectionist / incestuous lecher King Trump I in November 2024, I have been rousted from my retirement with the need to defend my loved ones and the country I swore an oath to protect. My new podcast is my first non-marijuana, politics-focused production since The Russ Belville Show on XM Satellite Radio.
It’s been a bit of a roller coaster ride trying to return to podcasting. At first, I thought I’d be doing a live in-studio show broadcast direct to YouTube. When that fell through, I committed to weekday mornings. When that proved too arduous, I settled in on Monday mornings.
Also, I am now a retired “hobbyist” podcaster. I’m not going out of my way to self-promote. I’m not actively seeking advertisers. I don’t plan on doing much travel. My show now is basically a review of the things that caught my interest over the week on my social media feed at Bluesky. Each week, I’ll be finding a new reason to #BoycottIdaho, I’ll bring you the latest political and cultural happenings from Southern Oregon, and I’ll lament the rapid decline of our constitutional democracy while finding new ways to fight for our freedom.
So… how did a pot-smoking musician computer nerd turn out well over 2,000 hours of podcasting on the politics of prohibition and the fight for cognitive liberty? How did a guy from Idaho end up delivering relevant content daily to the world just as the United States broke through with marijuana legalization state-by-state? How did he become a featured speaker, interviewer, and reporter at cannabis events throughout the United States, Canada, Jamaica, and England? How was he recognized by voice alone at the United Nations by strangers from South Africa, or break news in the Washington Post of the first sitting congressman to admit to personal medical marijuana use? Read on…
