Before I get all snarky, let’s be serious about this. There is an Amber Alert for these two missing children, Shasta (8) and Dylan (9) Groene. If you’ve seen them, call Kootenai County police at (208) 446-1300.
COEUR d’ALENE, Idaho — Three people were found dead and two children are missing from a North Idaho home, prompting a statewide Amber Alert issued Tuesday morning by the Kootenai County sheriff’s office.
Both children lived at the house with their mother who, along with an older brother and a third unidentified man were found dead at a house about eight miles east of Coeur d’Alene just off Interstate 90 on Wolf Lodge Bay, an arm of Lake Coeur d’Alene, according to Capt. Ben Wolfinger of the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.
“They’re obviously homicide victims,” Captain Wolfinger said. “They didn’t die of natural causes … it’s a traumatic incident and we’re treating it strictly as a homicide.”
And it is truly tragic, shocking news. It wasn’t just on Boise’s KTVB channel, it made national coverage on ABC news. Fortunately, no black or Latino families have been found murdered and no black or Latino kids have gone missing. At least, that’s what I can tell from following national mainstream media outlets lately.
