I just discovered that RadicalRuss.net is the 2,687,356th most visited site on the internet. Sigh. I’m not even in the top two-and-a-half million.

But it’s not the size of your readership that’s important, it’s the quality that matters (at least, that’s what us guys with small audiences like to believe). So to Adam, ytterby, Josh, Carl, Iva, and anyone else who’s reading the Writ, thank you. I’m not in it for the lure of blog celebrity; I do it because I have a pathological need to post my opinions for the world to see. Narcissus has nothing on me!

You may notice I’ve pulled the Google BlogAds from my right sidebar. Hey, when you’re #2,687,356, why bother advertising? Besides, the ads were usually ads for bumper stickers, and why should I provide links to my competition? You can still get my bumper stickers (and shirts and buttons etc.) by clicking the blinking ad over on your left.

This week, our headliner is someone you’ve never heard of who wrote hits you’ve definitely heard of, Mark James. We’ll take you to the Amphitheater for some experimental music from India and Germany. We’ve got some Texas pop-punk and California stoner rock in the Mosh Pit. We dedicate a new stage for Opera, featuring tenors from Peru and Czech Republic. We’ll open up the Country Bunker for some traditional Irish fiddle. We’ve got traditional French chant and French torch song in Le Cabaret. We’ll close up shop this week at the Festival Stage in Brazil.

We’ll go fully International with artists from Indonesia and Malaysia. We’ll head to the Amphitheater for a pair of pianists from Poland and Japan by way of Sweden, then wind things up in the Jazz Cellar once again in Sweden and then New Zealand.
