Jesus Was Not a Republican: Outrageous
How could I resist surfing to a blog called “Jesus Was Not a Republican”? Writer erinberry noticed something that I also noticed in this weekend’s Parade magazine (a.k.a. that glossy little bit of fluff that comes with your Sunday paper, usually slanted toward ol’ time conservative values, with the intellectual value of the TV Guide crossword, which happens to be the magazine with the largest circulation in the United States cuz it’s free in your Sunday paper)
The government spent more than $40 million for the Whitewater and Monica Lewinsky investigations but only $15 million for the 9/11 Commission to examine the terrorist atacks of Sep. 11, 2001.
And Shakespeare’s Sister follows up on that by noticing:
By way of further comparison, $50 million was provided to investigate the Columbia shuttle crash which killed seven people. And, lest we forget, the original funding earmarked for the commission… was a measly $3 million…
And I might add the $0 spent so far funding the non-existent commission investigating the leak of covert CIA agent Valerie Plame’s identity in retaliation for whistleblowing on the forged Niger yellowcake documents by her husband Joe Wilson. So, for those keeping score at home:
Investigating the cause of the tragic deaths of
seven Columbia astronauts...............................$50,000,000
Investigating the cause of a semen stain on a
blue dress..............................................$40,000,000
Investigating the cause of the tragic deaths by
terrorism of 3,000 Americans (after being
shamed by the families into pouring in some
real money)..............................................$15,000,000
Initial response to investigating the cause of
the tragic deaths by terrorism of 3,000
Americans................................................$ 3,000,000
Investigating the cause of the treasonous leak
of a covert CIA operative's identity.....................$ 0
Getting away with it all.................................... Priceless
