What is it with Bush flipping the bird? This picture is from when he was running for governor of Texas. Below in my Portland Protest pictures is a sign of him as president flipping someone off — while he’s carrying a US flag under his arm!
Think about it. You’re a public person. You know cameras are always looking at you. Why would you ever do this? Can you imagine Clinton, Bush I, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, Johnson, or Kennedy caught in this gesture (OK, maybe Nixon).
I think it speaks volumes to what kind of character he has — very little. I wrote a couple of days ago that emotionally-speaking, Bush is like a teenager.
How in hell do the red staters support this guy? What would they think of their pastor if they saw him flipping someone the bird?
He can’t speak the English language. He flips people off. He surreptitiously cleans his glasses on the shirt of David Letterman’s producer. He spits on the White House lawn while walking to the helicopter. He pats his wife on the ass while onstage at a formal event. The man just has no couth.
Some say this is part of his appeal. He’s a “regular guy”. He’s “one of us”. Sorry, I don’t want the president to be just some regular guy, I want him to be a superior specimen of American citizen. I want a Rhodes Scholar, not a frat boy from “Road Trip”.
Damn, I miss Clinton. At least the one uncouth thing he did happened where no one could see it.
