Howdy folks, it’s “Radical” Russ, your Red State Refugee, and you gotta give me a minute and a half for this fake, wrong, and smarmy guy in the Republican Vice-Presidential Auditions.
VIVEK RAMASWAMY: So, part of the problem is that we have a federal government that pays single mothers more to not have a man in the house than to have a man in the house, contributing to an epidemic of fatherlessness.

Of course! It’s all the gubmint’s fault for handing out free formula and diapers to those poor single moms! Yeah, WIC checks and food stamps, that’s why those men are sticking their unprotected baby maker in those young fertile wombs and then abandoning their parental responsibility.
But hey, Vivek, if you’re proposing that the gubmint starts paying irresponsible young men to stick around and raise their kids with their baby mama, I think you’re on to something.
VIVEK RAMASWAMY: Education starts with the family, and the nuclear family is the greatest form of governance known to mankind.
It’s quite telling that Republicans think of families as “governance,” and that the best way to govern is with a man calling the shots.
It’s also amazing how they can identify the problem of fatherlessness, and then push full-steam ahead with policies guaranteed to increase fatherlessness. Let employers refuse to cover her birth control prescription, so she gets pregnant. Ban abortions, so she has to bear the child he’s abandoned and raise it alone. Refuse to raise minimum wage and make college financially inaccessible so he can’t make the kind of income to be a supportive dad.
There are plenty of ways to raise a family. After all, a single mother raise Barack Obama and a traditional nuclear family raised Vivek Ramaswamy… you be the judge.
