Cop’s Body Camera Busts Him Stealing Marijuana
GRANTS, New Mexico – A police sergeant in New Mexico accuse of stealing marijuana from his department has been released from jail.
Grants Police Sgt. Roshem McKinney had been under investigation for six weeks following discovery by Grants Police Chief Craig Vandiver of McKinney’s lapel-cam footage which appears to show McKinney slipping marijuana into his uniform pocket, then later giving it to his girlfriend, all while driving his police cruiser on duty.
New Mexico’s KOB also reports that McKinney is charged with embezzlement of $785 cash and a half-pound brick of marijuana that he never turned in to the police evidence locker.
McKinney was released on Wednesday following just two days in jail. It is not known whether McKinney has an attorney or what the condition of his release entails.
