OK, now this is something that lies within the realm of possibility. I have income, vacation days, and a reliable vehicle. Hmmmm. How about Sunday, November 29th, Rams at Packers, Monday Night Football!
How cool would this be? It’s the Monday after Thanksgiving Weekend. I can fly or drive for Turkey Day there in Nampa. Then you and me and whoever else wants to go load up in the Caddy and drive it across the vast frozen bleak starktitude of the November Midwest to Green Bay. I’ll already have the 25th & 26th as days off, 27th & 28th are a weekend, I can use my two personal holidays for the 29th & 30th, and just take three vacation days for December 1st, 2nd, & 3rd. The 4th & 5th make the next weekend and I wouldn’t have to be back to work until December 6th. Eleven straight days off while only burning three vacation days!
We’d have to reserve it pronto and they require a deposit. So who wants to go to Lambeau Field for a Monday Night game late in the season for $1,000? I figure the tickets and hotel are $600 and the other $400 will go for gas, food, and $250 worth of tacky Cheesehead stuff that will further annoy my wife. Heck, you could probably reasonably make it on $750, considering that we’ll be car pooling and sharing a motel room on the road.
