Have you been following the Dylan Mulvaney controversy? Seems there’s this trans woman, Dylan, for whom Bud Light made a commemorative can celebrating her one year of transitioning.
This led to a fervor on the right, with conservatives decrying the wokeness of Bud Light, followed by boycotts and a dramatic drop in sales.
Bud Light, being a corporation that wants all the money, then backed away from Dylan and tried releasing a video reminding its drinkers that it is an uber-macho patriotic brand of weak-ass American lager.
That’s now led to gay bars dumping their affiliation with Bud Light.
It’s all very silly; I always figured you drank beer if it, one, tasted good and two, got you drunk, neither of which Bud Light will do for me. But nowadays, your choice of chug-a-lug’s got to signal whether you believe men with gender dysphoria are equivalent in every way to women.
