PROTEST RALLY

at the STATE OFFICES of OMMP

While Kevin Neely of the Attorney General’s office stated that members of Attorney General staff are currently meeting regarding Raich vs. Gonzales and how it impacts thousands of sick and dying Oregonians who are registered with the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program. Mr. Neely stated that they realize the urgency of this matter. But patients who depend on this landmark program to sustain their lives aren’t being heard.
Madeline Martinez, Executive Director of Oregon NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws), stated today that if the Department of Human Services does not resume issuing OMMP cards by this Friday, June 10, 2005, Oregon NORML will present a protest rally on Monday, June 13, 2005 at noon at the Oregon Office Building, 800 NE Oregon Street in Portland. The offices for the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program (OMMP) are located at this building
