You’ve got to love the way the Shrubbies are now coming out stressing that “we never said Saddam was linked to 9/11!” It’s obvious they are trying to prevent any blowback they’d receive in the 2004 campaign. They are trying to whitewash all of their lies and deceit used to justify their pre-ordained attacks in Iraq — before a respected four-star general candidate calls them on it in the campaign!

I’ve read some who’ve come out in defense of the Shrubbies, saying, “it’s true, they never said Saddam was behind 9/11.” But it’s all so disingenuous. Polls have shown for months now that 70% of Americans believe Saddam had a hand in 9/11, but it’s only now that they get around to debunking that perception? Of course, because people believing the lie fits in with their agenda; why bother to assert the truth?
