When I put together a sign to go stand on April 5th with others in Medford, Oregon, to protest the attack on our government from within, I expected to be a part of a crowd of a couple hundred. I was thrilled when I arrived to find the entire length of Jackson Street packed ten deep on the sidewalks on both sides of the road and filling the median, stretching the length of four large commercial city blocks as nearly every car driving by was honking in approval.
Jackson County voted for Trump 52–47 in the 2024 election. Our Congressman is Cliff Bentz, the only Republican and only man in our state’s 6-member delegation. It has long been a part of a quasi-secessionist movement to form the State of Jefferson and has been targeted by the quasi-secessionist Greater Idaho movement as well.
